hi Folks,
I would share an idea with you. Before a few month i started to work with the G.E.C.K, Fallout Modmanager, Whats the difference between a BSA and a ESM is and many things more. I also planed to start building a modification, but the difference between the other mods. I would not use the Fallout.esp or FalloutNV.esp. I opened a new EPS and it runs.
I cleaned up the client till he gots only ~16mb and the client starts allready.
So i continued my work with this suggestion and begin to fill the client data with my own sounds and grafic files. Its also possible to redesign the start up screen and many things more.
This suggestion makes possible to split the client mod files.
If you build a mod, after a few weeks you would include some new weapons. If other players would play this mod, so they must download the complete packet instead of the smaller weapon files.
I build a scribble, how this runs.
207
Example:
I planed build up a mod calls "Fallout - Project Adler". So my files would call:
FalloutPA.esm (Only files that are necessary to start the client)
FalloutPA_rules.bsa (Game Globals, Const & Vars)
FalloutPA_actordolls.bsa (Creature & NPC Models)
FalloutPA_actorsouls.bsa (Creature & NPC SPECIAL Definitions)
FalloutPA_environment.bsa (Vegetation & Building Models, World/Cell Music & Soundfiles)
FalloutPA_script.bsa (I dont know if this would be needed for VaultMP?)
FalloutPA_weapon.bsa (Weapon Models and Impact Data)
FalloutPA_item.bsa (All sort of Items)
FalloutPA_armor.bsa (All sort of Armor)
FalloutPA_map_(Name).bsa (Only map related data! like ASPC, REGN and so on)
This is also the final loading order!
I guess the biggest suggestion on this is, that you can split off a team and so can every member work on a part without disturb another member with. Also can be designed really fast new maps and you need only exchange the map.bsa insteed of the complete content.
Its damn hard work, i stopped by my "FalloutPA - actordolls.bsa".
In this case i also ask if someone would join this project. At the moment i work by my own and can really need a helping hand or two. :)
