Fallout 3 Crashes after a few seconds.

Hey everyone I'm getting alot of problems with crashes only a few seconds after loading the multiplayer mod.

    My Fallout version is:

    1.7
    Size:14,3 MB (15 044 024 byte)

    Size on disc: 14,3 MB (15 044 608 byte)

But i DONT have the DLC.

I'm running Windows 7 and I've tried disabling my Anti-virus (Kaspersky) and I've even tried compabilites on both Fallout.exe (Windows xp SP2/SP3 and even Windows 7) with a tick on "disable desktop compression"

I've tried this also on vaultmp.exe (minus the desktop compression" without success. Although I did read about a windows live fix although I dont use Windows live and i've even disabled LIVE on fallout. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks

    Hello,

thanks for the detailed information. Mind giving me the size of your xlive.dll file in bytes, too?

Taking a look at the log it suddenly ends. Is this the complete log? Does your game crash ("Fallout3 has stopped working&quot or freeze? Try to join the test server and see if it makes a difference

Have you installed FOSE, that might be necessary. What is your graphics card? Does Fallout 3 work without the mod?

I just come here to view whether there has been any progress or not, and review the wonderful progress that Recycler and the development team has made.
My sincere thanks goes to them and to others who value my contributions the community, not to mention the ones that solely contribute.

Re: Fallout 3 Crashes after a few seconds.

My fallout game will just freeze completely, although i can still hear the music. I have to end the process. I have tried both test servers, the log has the same results on both servers.
No problem! the details of xlive.dll is:

    21.0kb (21,504 bytes)
    24.0kb (24,576 bytes)

you are correct though, that is not the entire log, here is the external link to the log:

I have installed FOSE, from the rev 26 installer and fallout works perfectly without the multilayer, I'm as far as megaton, whereas it crashed just before leaving the slope from vault 101 on multiplayer.

My graphics card is: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

Make sure you've got compatability turned off, the save must be in the actual folder Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Saves, and make sure VaultMP has permission to run as well otherwise it wont be able to access the process.

I've done it with both compatability off and on. I have set both fallout.exe and vaultmp.exe as administrators, even went into the permissions and set it all the full control. I think its based around the graphics cards as the log shows animations and ragdoll errors, found on the graphics card.

I can guarantee you that its not your graphics card cus, I have one near your model.
It's most likely the copy of the game you have.

Re: Fallout 3 Crashes after a few seconds.

Knowing my luck it is, I think i have the standard, non GOTY, as its only around 5.56GB.

The thing is, it works perfect in single player but as soon as i load it in multiplayer i crashes, sometimes instant others few seconds. I'm not sure if its the vaultmp.exe rights problem as it cant process commands but i've got it in very high permissions and as administrator access. I did want to ask though if you had to configure FOSE or it is simply drag drop and run once, as I've done just that i've not configured anything to go with it, it's just sitting in the fallout directory.

Re: Fallout 3 Crashes after a few seconds.

As the Singleplayer is working just fine, it's most likely an issue with the mod...your setup seems correct, too. I myself experience game freezes with the mod from time to time, but not that frequently I try to find out what causes those freezes. It's pretty hard to determine what's wrong, because the debugger won't do anything if a freeze occurs. But I'll find a solution sooner or later, I'd like to ask you to be a little more patient and wait until we've got a fix, thanks

I'm willing to wait for as long as you need me too mate! It's not a problem at all
Hope my log file helped! lol
